Youth and Young Adults
Middle School (6th – 8th Grades), Youth House
Focus is on learning about the Bible -- where did it come
from, how do you use it, how is it organized – developing
personal habits of reading and studying the Bible, and
learning about key biblical characters and passages through activities and discussions.
Senior High (9th – 12th Grades), Room 314
Continued focus on learning about the Bible, developing
personal Bible study skills, and studying specific books of
the Bible. Use of video clips, activities, lecture, and
discussion. Curriculum: Backstage Pass to the Bible and
resources for studying specific books of the Bible.
Timothy Class, Library
For College Students & Young Adult Singles
Small group discussion-based sessions using Cokesbury’s
20/30 Series for young adults. Explore topics such as the
“Mystery of God”, “Covenants”, and "miracles" through Bible study and
reflecting on life experiences. Go out to lunch after
worship on the second Sunday of each month.
Adult Classes
Ichthos Class, Room 311
Scripture-focused discussions about what God’s Word really
means to our lives and how to live it. Lessons are typically
structured as interactive series focused on certain topics
or passages of the Bible. Most class members are in their
30’s and 40’s; open to singles and couples.
Genesis Class, Room 207/209
A group of fun & caring couples, most with children ranging from pre-school to middle school. We seek fellowship, spiritual growth and opportunities for service for ourselves and our families. Our lessons range from scripture studies to relating God's work to our daily lives. Classes are taught in a discussion format with various class members that volunteer to be facilitators. We strive to nurture and support our fellow class members and warmly welcome all newcomers.
Koinonia Class, Room 316
This class meets in a coffee-shop atmosphere that encourages
open-minded and spirited discussions. Members take turns
leading the lessons. Focus on Bible studies and contemporary
issues. Most members are in their 50's or 60's, but all are welcome.
Serendipity Class, Room 203
Informal atmosphere, lively chatter, laughter, and a
lesson that translates God’s Word into meaningful directions
for daily life. A variety of topics are covered. Class
members are in their 40’s and 50’s. Discussions focus on how
families can more faithfully live out Christ’s teachings.
Unity Class, Room 312
A group of Older Adults that learns, laughs, and loves being
together. This group recently formed when three other
classes combined. Curriculum used is the Adult Bible Studies
International Series.
Fellowship Class, Room 206
This large and lively class of middle-aged adults has an
active committee system that leads the class through
Projects, care and nurture, and Social events. Teachers rotate
weekly, and lessons are a mixture of Bible studies, topical
discussions, and lessons from the Adult Bible Studies
International Series. |
